Study Abroad
One of the many amazing opportunities that students can take advantage of during their time at JBU is studying abroad. With a wide array of international programs and a team devoted to helping students get outside of their comfort zone, students are sure to get connected with a program that will fit within their degree plan. In most study abroad programs, classes offered will give credit for core classes, major-specific classes, or both.
Study abroad trips are offered during the summer and during the school year. For the summer, students can go to Ireland, Jordan, Switzerland, or on one of the art trips in Europe. During the fall and spring semesters, programs include England, Ecuador, Lithuania, Spain, South Korea and more.
While the programs offered are subject to change, and don’t always occur year to year, one of JBU’s mainstays is the Irish Studies Program. This allows students to spend either the summer, fall, or spring semester at Lakeside Manor, JBU’s mansion in Belfast, Ireland.
In addition, these trips aren’t necessarily going to break the bank. Loans, scholarships and grants are all available to students, as well as institutional aid that will help cover costs. In the end, students usually end up paying the same amount that they would at JBU.
Outside of classes, these trips offer missions opportunities and teach intercultural awareness and communication in order to achieve the goal of impacting the world for Christ. Studying abroad is a life-changing experience and one that all JBU students can experience.
